Sound of Metal

Ruben, a drummer in a metal band, finds his world upended when he discovers his hearing is rapidly deteriorating. Fearing that his professional future and personal life are effectively finished, he turns to his girlfriend, Lou. As a former addict, Ruben is enrolled in a specialized rehabilitation facility for the deaf to help him adjust to his condition and avoid a potential relapse. Within this supportive community, he finds acceptance while grappling with the difficult internal conflict of whether to embrace his current circumstances or desperately attempt to reclaim the existence he previously occupied.
