The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada

Pete Perkins, a dedicated ranch hand, finds himself bound by a vow to return his friend Melquiades Estrada to his native Mexican village for a proper burial. Following the wrongful killing of Estrada by a reckless Texas border patrol officer named Mike Norton, Perkins takes matters into his own hands. He abducts the officer and recovers the remains of his companion. Together, they embark on an arduous journey across the landscape on horseback. This unusual expedition serves as a grim quest to honor a final commitment, forcing the two men to navigate the difficult path toward the border with the deceased in tow.
